Statement of Beliefs

Our Beliefs

1. We believe in one God, who is the Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Genesis 1:1-2; Matthew 28:1-3

2. We believe in God the Father who sovereignty rules over all he created and continues to care for and sustain all that exists.

Matthew 6:9; Psalm 115:3

3. We believe in Jesus Christ as Lord, God’s only Son, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, is fully God and fully man – the only Mediator between God and man.

John 3:16; Matthew 1:23-25; 1 Timothy 2:5

4. We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Christ, to convict mankind of sin, and to indwell, guide, instruct, and empower all who put their faith in Christ.

John 16:7-8; John 16:13-14; Titus 3:5

5. We believe that the gospel is the centerpiece of faith and life. We believe it is the good news about what God has done through Jesus Christ. God has not only created the world, but since all humankind has sinned and fallen out of right relationship with Him, he has brought salvation to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus His son. We believe that true salvation is a gift of grace from God, through faith in Christ apart from any human works.

Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5-6

6. We believe in the authority of the Bible. We believe the Bible contains all we need for life and godliness; therefore, it is the foundation of all we believe and do. We believe that true life change is found, not in our opinions, thoughts, and ideas but in the power of the inspired Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21

7. We believe that the church is a family of Christ followers. We are all broken people, loved by the Father, redeemed through Jesus’ sacrifice, and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. We strive to focus on God’s love to repair our brokenness, and to live together as a community of God’s redeemed. We recognize our dependence upon Christ and need to grow in our relationship with Him and to share His gospel message of grace, redemption, and hope with others.

Ephesians 2:19-22; Acts 2:42; Matthew 28:18-20

8. We believe in celebrating two symbolic remembrances when we come together. We celebrate the Lord’s table (communion) which is a remembrance of Christ’s sacrificial death for our sins. We also practice baptism by immersion which is a public confession that we have trusted Christ’s death and resurrection for our salvation.

Matthew 26:26-30; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41

9. We believe that Christ is our only true, living hope. We believe in His bodily return, ushering in everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord for every believer, but eternal and conscious judgment for those failing to put their trust in Him and the gospel. We believe He must be preeminent in all we do.

John 1:1-4; John 14:6; Colossians 1:15-20
